The golden voice from Golden, Texas, broke big with last year’s album Golden Hour. Not only did it win the prestigious Best album category (and three other categories) at the Grammy’s, it catapulted Kacey Musgraves from country star to superstar. Which, sooner or later, would’ve happened anyway. She’s got the glitter and the warmth, the sweetness and the hurt, the melodies and the sound, the tradition and the innovation, she pretty much has got it all.
Kacey Musgraves is one of the outspoken country and americana artists who is transforming Nashville. Many listeners were introduced to her when they heard her sing the line ”So, make lots of noise kiss lots of boys/or kiss lots of girls if that’s somethin’ you’re into/When the straight and narrow gets a little too straight/roll up a joint, or don’t” in the hit song Follow Your Arrow from her major label debut Same Trailer Different Park (2013). She started writing songs at the age of eight and penned a song called Notice Me for her elementary school graduation. Recently she premiered The Kacey Musgraves Christmas show, a holiday TV-special including a soundtrack album with guests such as Lana Del Rey, Camila Cabello and Leon Bridges.
